Our final Himalayan stroll was the classic trekking route of the Annapurna circuit. Covering about 200 kilometres in 18 days, we climbed up alongside the Marshyangdi river valley to Manang and then over the rarefied heights of Thorung La, one of the world's highest mountain passes at 5416 metres or 17769 feet to the Kali Gandaki river and then followed the sacred river downstream before some final days climbing to the Himalayan viewpoint at Poon Hill and returning to Pokhara.

Hello all,
Well I wondered if it would happen.....One set of friends was going west and one going east....Now it seems you are within spitting distance of each other!!!
Julian, we met Pete & Bini in Ghana in October 2008 on our way down through Africa. They were on their way up!
Pete & Bini, we met Julian in the Cerderberg, South Afirca while he was making tracks cycling around the world!
Now you are both in Nepal....!
I really do believe that you lot should meet up as we do have a degree of separation and I know you all would enjoy each other.
If you can see if you can arrange this as, at the very least would make for a good story.

Hey you two!
I hope you are fine!
The Annapurna trip is still in my head, even if you are almost there again in everyday life.
I have to think and to laugh of the movie theater in Manang "mint tea ok?"
Thank you again for the throat pain pills and a good journey for you!
Best regards
Axel
Hey Axel!
Great to hear from you! We're in Varanasi now and often think back to those quiet days in the beautiful hills!
Stay well...
Julian
